maybe we're all just a bunch of lost teens
who connect to music
as our own way of absorbing the world
because the lyrics sometimes explain how we feel
better than we can put into words
maybe we paint on makeup in the morning
to make ourselves look happier than we really are
plastering on a fake smile
praying every night
that tomorrow will finally be the day
we don't have to paint on our smiles anymore
