You

Glances- never returned

on buses

brown hair, cute nose

eyes I idolize

just like

your sister's

Hockey player

I dream and see

your reflection in ice-

ice I wish we shared

your sweaty palm,

I wish was in mine

Mysterious

popular,

yet friend to all

always reminding

your sister

you love her more

Your Sister

Conversations

on busses

and couches, too

funny stories

sometimes they include you

Swimmer

radiant fish

extroverted and bright

I'm lucky we share

the same

salty pond

Free,

yet caged up in plans

lazy,

yet filled up with grit

are you

a companion picture?

Me

How could

it work

when ice melts;

when she's so dear

to both you

and I?

How could

the ice

we all skate on,

each in our own rink,

not crack and leave

lonesome me all alone?

I'll trail along

behind

forever

the slowest

She'll slow down for me.

You'll keep on skating.

I wrote this after realizing that I'd rather keep my friendship with a friend than risk it for the dangerousness of a crush on her brother.
