Crumbling
  Can you feel the divide
The  foundation of all my illusions
Crumbling
I based all of my dreams and hopes on this concrete
Only to learn it was never stable
  Can you feel the  unrest
Earthquakes and emotions shifting on Mondays tectonic plates
When you shove your emotions down the trash
The smell always seems to resonate
  Can you feel the  pain
Because I never learned and keep on making those same mistakes
Even oak trees die and so do dreams
But hurt seems to limp on, stay well past it's welcome
  Can you feel the uneven
The shards of old wine bottles and fantasy
I hope my hopes aren't lost in the thickets of reality
Somehow I always seem to lose myself
  Can you feel the divide
Made when words hushed are shared
  I can feel the divide
  When one's trust is
Crumbling
