My Loss
I lost my heart in a place somewhere
At one time I had it here I swear
But a stranger came and I gave it away
Didn't know what I'd lost till this day
I used to be a godly man
My life devoted to charity
I had the smarts and forward vision
Should've considered a coming collision
I had a soul, I had a heart
Until something came and tore it apart
I began to think I had it all
Until I heard the devil's call
I fell into a deep depression
I turned to church for a holy session
But the devil beat them to my life
to him I sold my rags, my strife
I turned to lies, I cheated and stole
I dug myself into a bottomless hole
The people learned to hate my might
They knew I stood for what wasn't right
I had everything I would require
To squash every man's desire
But it all went horribly wrong
Now I have but myself to hate
These final words come far too late
I have but a minute to apologize
A minute to come to realize
I lost my heart in a place somewhere
At one time I had it here, I swear
But a stranger came and I gave it away
Didn't know what I'd lost till this day
