Someday, I won’t need him anymore.
Someday, I won’t hug him every night before bed.
Someday, I won’t need him to comfort me when I feel lonely.
Instead, I’ll have you.
I’ll be in your arms and make it through the night.
You’ll be there to comfort me when I feel lonely.
As for him.
Well.
I won’t need the stuffed lion you gave me anymore.
He will no longer remind me of your scent.
He’ll have a special place on top of a drawer of our home.
And he’ll have a special place in my heart, just like you.

I meant for this to start off seemingly confusing and perhaps pertaining to a lost love, but ending on a light note. It truly is about a stuffed lion my boyfriend gave me on our first Valentine's Day together and I sleep with it every night and take it with me if I'm sleeping anywhere else for the night. We named him "Mini Me" because it reminded us of him. Sometimes I really do wonder what will happen to Mini Me when my boyfriend and I move in together, but I'll always love that little lion.
