A Crushing Swim Alone: Life of a Peacock Mantis Shrimp

A soft disturbance in the sand
Announces I am here.
Alone, I start my journey in the ocean...
Crushing waves take out schools of plankton
Collapsing burrows of fish
Creeping upon me, another creature
Cautiously I move, I am not alone
Swimming towards me,
Sending shocks stormfully.
Slamming me down,
Said creature prevails.
Sand rustles as I fall…
A soft disturbance in the sand
Announces I am gone.
Alone, I end my journey in the ocean.
