Understand
  Please don’t say you understand
  Please don’t offer acceptance
  Don’t give me a label,
I’m not a book on your shelf,
  I’m constantly changing,
  rewritting myself.
  I don’t need your acceptance,
Your sad looks or your pity,
At the end of the day,
They only make me feel empty
  Like swallowing air,
  I can’t gain sustenance
From your pats on the back
  From your supposed acceptance.
  Don’t walk in my shoes,
  They aren’t meant for you,
  Being in my story,
Doesn’t show my point of view
So do us all a favor,
  Stop announcing your understanding
  Your helping yourself
  It’s not me your affecting
