The Taste of the Sea
Resent rapaciously flows through my rib cage
Like a storming ocean
Rupturing the flood gates
That protected my impeccant soul
As it rushes through
The rueful waters consume me
My heart and lungs are swallowed
My existence is drowning in my very own regret
As my veins fill with the remorseful sea
I watch as my spite and suffering are engulfed in their own origin
Yet the salt of the ocean does not taste of happiness nor relief
Instead I relish in the taste of your absence
