The Experiment

I am the first
The first is the experiment
The one to test
To see if it's good enough
But if it fails
Then it is cast aside
And the creators
Try again
The second child is the golden one
The one who you do
Everything opposite
Of what you did to the first
This time
The creators make sure
Not to make the same mistakes
The children after that are accidentals
Regrets
The ones the creators
Didn't think they needed protection from
The ones no one takes seriously
Some say it is an honor
Or some kind of trophy
To be the first
But it is anything but
The creators ignore you
Reject you
In favor of the one
They always meant to have
The second
I am the experiment
I am the first
