You'll Remember Me
Someone who truly loves will never forget.
  It’s true.
To say one forgets who they gave their life to is a lie.
  And I loved you.
  I won’t deny that I loved you.
I saw all the love I wanted in your light brown eyes
Every morning I rolled over to your side
And saw you looking into my soul.
Now you are in my nights
As I reach for the left side of the bed we once shared,
Where you once laid your body.
You were never right for me.
  I use to wonder
“But what’s a king size bed without its King?”
But now I see I was never your Queen
And you only ever made me fumble.
I used to count the minutes till I was by your side.
And now I suffer like I’ve never suffered before.
You’d turn my spring into the loneliest days of winter
And my summers were unbearable as each day turned colder.
You were once the air that I’d breathe
And sometimes I miss being able to get any air in.
Every thought of you haunts my lungs
As they struggle to do their job.
  I wanted all your love
And now I want the memory of you to fade.
  I gave you light
  While you gave me darkness.
I know that in the bottom of your heart
There is a place for me, because in its moment I was important.
And even though I wanted to be everything to you,
Your life, your soul, your heart, your mind will never have me in it.
  You’ll remember me,
  Because I was your madness
  And sanity all in one.
  We were one.
And you will remember that.
