A bird

I wish I was a bird.
I could be free.
If I wanted to leave I could spread my wings,
And let the wind take me.
If I needed some fresh air,
I could open my wings,
And let the wind retrieve me.
If I needed some alone time,
I could unlatch my wings,
And let the wind own me.
I wish I was a bird,
Always heard,
Too quick to be seen.
But instead I’m me.
A human.
Trapped by gravity’s laws.
