My One Beat
In My one beat i walk through the deep abyss of your biggest fear. in my one beat i live in a terrifiying world where i can only feel what you expect me to feel, in my one beat i hear the sound of a trigger being pulled piercing through the skin of another innocent man. in my one beat, i am speechless yet i have so much to say, in my one beat i run so fast im gasping for air strangled by the taunting sounds of snickering and laughter, beaten to black eyes and broken ribs by the fists of sinister stares, in my one beat i sit in the back of the room not because i dont like you but because i feel safer there.

this poem discusses violence , and discrimination towards the l.g.b.t. community, but i realised this poem reaches others beyond that.
