Stanza
The thrumming of a string of hearts
All connected
All beating
Slow, piercing poems enter the veins of our minds
As words flow into our damaged ears
And frigid lines spill from our tainted mouths
And the audience hums their polite hums
And the teacher says “Good Job”
And the world will continue spinning mercilessly until
The stanza ends.
