in and out

in and out here i go
entering this great unknown
my toes in the sand
with salt in my hair
my feet on the ground with my head in the clouds
i thought i had known what pain had felt like
but truly i was wrong
you left me all alone
and this is how i know what true pain feels like
i thought i would be fine
better off without you
but i guess once again i was wrong
so today is one of those days
one of the days where i see your face and wonder where it all went wrong
then i think it happened for and reason
and that reason was me.
