Every day gives me a new reason for why I shouldn't believe in love

They say that God ordained marriage and I wonder why

He would ordain such an evil, evil thing

Marriage is like slavery and husbands are

Evil plantation owners who break whips over women's backs and watch them bleed

They watch them bear children for them

And in turn, enslave those children

Saying "I do" allows chains to lock

Around your hands and feet, so "I do not"

I will not, I will never

Subject myself to be a slave because I am

An American and I believe in freedom

Isn't it funny that many men paid the price for our freedom?

Well, I aim to keep that freedom

My mother may have been sold to that slave trade

And I to the chains of a father

But one day, I will be emancipated

One day, by the grace of God Almighty, I will be free at last!
