I worry about this little girl
So far away, but close enough
Near enough for me to feel her hurting
He hits her, leaves bruises behind
She, in turn, turns her back on all men
She cuts her skin in hopes to feel better
Still, she's hurting and needing a friend
She reminds me of me
Once upon a time
And even a little bit of today
She's not alone anymore since I took her hand
I'm not a mind reader, but I sure do understand
I promise to be here for her
I vow not to let her down
You can let go of the rope, baby sis
I've got you now
