School Days
Ingenuous, ignorant, innocuous
Small and plump with long chestnut hair
A vibrant green shirt not equated with hot pink shorts
Shoes bunny eared tied and ready for action
With a backpack twice my size and as heavy as it looks
I waddle my way through the front door of the enormous brown building
We may be the youngest class in school but that isn’t stopping any of us
Today is the day I learn the value of education
Funny, flighty, fierce
Shortest in the class and also the quietest
Fuzzy purple shirt with purple rectangular shaped glasses
Purple sketcher slide ons ready for anything
My backpack firmly resting on my shoulders
I walk with my head held high throughout the day
Our class is the top dogs of the not so big elementary school
Today is the day I learn how to set a good example
Young, yacking, youthful
Wide brown eyes with a not so big frame
A colorful name brand shirt with a worn pair of Levis
Silver ballet flats prepared for the long day
Blue pull over shoulder backpack making me unbalanced
I strut my way into the decent sized middle school
With one class under me and another above me, I’m right in the middle
Today is the day I learn the value of friends
Anxious, antsy, aghast
Big bulky glasses with scarlet red lips
Thrift store clothes from all over the place
Red Converse laced up not so ready for the first day
Plain bulky grey backpack holding several pounds of textbooks
I walk through the front door of the gigantic brown building
Hoping my first year in the big four year fish tank is a good one
Today is the day I learn how to survive
Original, outgoing, optimistic
Short hair with an outgoing personality
Graphic Tee paired with black yoga pants
White Converse ready to endure the large school halls
A cute and colorful backpack with hardly anything in it
I walk through the halls with my head held high
Year two isn’t as bad as I thought it would be
Today is the day I learn things get better

This piece is about my years through school from kindergarden to Sophomore year. I was inspired to right this piece to show how people change throughout the years of school.
