My Brother
You've changed; you're different.
You're not the one I called my best friend
Long ago in our golden childhood.
Your smile that was once lit with happiness
No longer appears on your hating face;
Years have passed since warmth
Touched your cruel heart.
Where is my brother?
Where is the one I played with,
Creating adventures and defeating evil?
Please give him back to me;
I don't want the cold anger
That has replaced his once-boyish presence.
I want the one that wrote letters,
Pretending he was a snake named Crunch;
I want the one who knew
All about the rainbow fish's blinding powers;
I want the one who turned our bunk bed
Into a store to give away everything free;
I want the one who Snowy trusted
As we defeated Abisa and her master.
I want the brother I loved so much,
Yet all that is left is a memory;
Something that once was
But no longer exists in this hurtful reality.
