"900 years of time and space, and I've never met anyone who wasn't important." - The Doctor [Doctor Who]

Swimming upstream, against powerful tides.
Dull scales and grey tails,
Teaching tradition,
Preaching religion.

Because the current’s been carved,
With old tools and hard work,
You’re expected to follow,
Although you feel hollow.

Dragged through dirt,
Tugged through trenches,
You relinquish their hold,
Break out of their mold.

Now swimming freely,
You ride your own wave.
Eventually, others may pursue,
Then change will certainly ensue.
