Drowning
Living in the hood anything can happen.
Look at someone wrong and then start scrapping.
Gangs everywhere drugs in the air.
This is not the life for me I want to disappear.
Shootings every day, robbers in the streets.
Poor little children swept right off their feet.
Can’t pay bills not anything to eat,
single mom’s living in the heat.
Kids out past curfew kidding around,
lacking education because they want to be down.
Disguising their ignorance by being the class clown,
Treating school as their own personal playground.
Walking to the store is even unsafe now.
Even sitting on the stoop can get you caught up in the loop.
Smoking and drinking just to fit in,
This is where peer pressure seems to begin.
Don’t let what’s around you pull you down.
Be the leader of your life your time is NOW!
