Under The Cloak Of Night
My breath stains the clear glass with the fog of condensation
While my foot subcontiously and unoticably taps the wooden floor
Night is coming
And I am afraid
Afraid of what could lie within the shadows
Within the darkness
Something that could pop out and grab me
Only to pull me back in and immerse me in the unknown
Or maybe something that stalks me through the night
Back to my house
And just waits
For me to close my eyes and go to sleep
So it can squirm itself into my happy, content dream
And turn it into a living hell
Where only shadows live
And watch
And wait
I'll have to enter this darkness soon
To travel back from which I came
But night time is coming
And I'm afraid
