It's a wonder what the mind can make up sometimes
How vivid the images are
Of the moment we first met
And how you smiled when you learned my name;
The moment at the coffee shop
When I first told you of my ex;
The moment we had issues
And how you managed them so well.
It's funny how I remember even the littlest things
Like the flavor of your coffee,
And the stain on your jeans,
When none of them really happened
Except in my dreams.
