Love and Heartbreak
Introducing me to a new sensation
He was the one who taught me
why my heart would pace so rapidly
when he’d brush up against me
why my smile shined brighter than ever
when he’d give me that look
oh how i wanted this to last forever
naive of what was going on
they told me I was undergoing a feeling,
a feeling called love
With love came joy
my laughs now louder
smiles now brighter
I didn’t want any other
because He showed me he cared
making sure I was okay
on my worst of days
he was always there
side by side we continued to be
and when we danced all night
looking at me in that way
i fell so very deep
they said we were soulmates
said we’d be perfect together
but little did i know that
nothing perfect lasts forever...
naive I had been
blinded by that feeling
I hadn’t realized what I got myself in
all the sudden pretending he didn’t care
my heart broke in pieces
I was left in despair
introducing me to love
he left me on top of the world
only short living high up
he shot me back down
far deep into a pit
further than I had ever been
he introduced me to a new sensation
heartbreak is what they said.
he showed me the highest of highs
and then the lowest of all lows
my heart that had once been whole
is now damaged with holes
blaming myself for what had happened
I had lost sense of my worth
slowing crawling out of this pit
I’m regaining a new a begin
He introduced me to love
I thought was forever
but broken through by heartbreak
i don’t ever want to love again.
