PeoPle Are MaZes, ComPlicaTed aNd tiRed
The outside has
lush green plants
with
vibrant and bright
colored flowers
yet
the inside has
CoMpliCated pAtteRns
with
decaying and browning
branches
the
inside and outside
are one in the same
yet
only one is
a mirage
placed strategically
so others will
glace at the lush green
and continue
on and
never ask.
but
i know
ThE MaZe
inside and
out
i know
that there
in the
decaying and browning
branches
there is
beauty and
life
i will walk
the endless
MaZe
searching for
the beauty
until i find
the center
the walls
will heal
and
i will
live on
as the
MaZe’s caretaker
forever
keeping
it lush
and
vibrant
and
when my
walls
are
yellow with
age and
crumble
down to
dust
not with
sadness
not with
despair
not with
defeat
but
with the
feeling of an
accomplished
heart
that will
love the
MaZe
and
when your
walls lay
down with
mine
i will
love you
until
the
end
of
time

I wrote this for anyone who has loved someone through depression. Whether in a marriage, relationship, or family. This has been a very tender topic for me, and I wanted to create something beautiful out of it.
