As the Stars Begin to Shimmer
As the stars begin to shimmer
And the moon takes to its shift
The vortex of the faceless night
Initiates its drift
Wind moves along her lonely way
Lost to the grips of time
Secrets speckled amongst her features
Songs swirling in her sigh
Clouds young yet in their musings
Caring not for where they turn
Knock down the stars, one by one
For they still have much to learn
The moon hardly spares one glance
Wind runs along her track
The faceless night can give no sign
In observing what it lacks.
The sky emits a fearsome shout
Albeit anger dissolves to grief
It wails the song, the awful tale,
And cannot find relief
The clouds join in Sky's suffering
And drop their sorry tears
Wind moans in pain, Night gives no help,
Moon hopes the stars can hear
Night gives up the battle
And returns the sky to Day
Moon retires to his lonely bed
Peace attempts to resume her sway
The clouds sing final goodbyes
Wind, a final sobbing shake,
And, with that, the storm is gone
One none want to remake
But when the Sun is spent
And the sky is growing grey
The stars begin to shimmer
And so resumes the opposite of day.
