Buildings and Automobiles
A black serpent
creeps in
a driveway
with flawless
dystopian style
And its many
mouths open,
letting in animals
in ball gowns
and tuxedos
A knock-off lego set
isn’t too pitied
because the
American Girl
lemonade stand
was earned with
constant scraping
of bits from
a mediocre
allowance
And there are
the broken
match box cars
With grungy,
plastic, broken
figures with
any decals
wiped off
from the
excruciating
exhaustion of
time
That brick doll house
sure is tempting
with the insulation
of porcelain figures
Some of us try
to play just a little
for the sake
of observation--
but the
painful pleasure
chases us down
like the butler
And yet I saw
that serpent
pulling into the
fake lego set
as well but
that just means
no food to spill
on that plastic
table cloth
this week
