I remember loving you.

I remember the anguish you out me through.

You gave me purpose,

a reasin to succeed.

Although my reason was fear of you judging me.

I wondered how it was that you made me fall the way I did.

But now I see it through and through,

How you tricked me,

into becoming so radically in love with you.

It was your boyish giggle,

the way your eyes twinkled.

It was when you smiled,

how your perfect lips curved up.

Oh gosh, how you made me fall in love.

I hung onto every word you let slip,

memorized them like my whole life depended on it.

I remember loving you.

The way it killed me

with all of its agonizing irony.

You fell in love with the girl next door.

I shouldn't have been suprised.

She's the one that all men adore.

But every ounce of my love which I gave,

you poured into her.

I gave so much, the room began to spin and blur.

Or maybe that was my weling tears.

The realization that I could never have you.

That you were hers,

and I was a fool.

When I look at you I no longer see the man I lived for.

But if I had the choice,

I would always choose to bear your torture.

Because I remember loving you.
