I Left My Eyes Open
How could I forget that night?
When my heart was set in motion
They say that love is blind,
I left my eyes open.
Traced his fingers across my skin
Painting the memories
Of when my life began
And searing lips, a thousand degrees
There was stardust in hair
It made the nighttime gleam
And maybe then I was unaware
But he was the stuff of dreams
When we left the world behind
Mountains crumbled into the ocean
They say that love is blind,
I left my eyes open.
