My Eyes are Open
My eyes are open,
They ask me to close them,
I’d lie if I said I don’t bite my lip, everytime, but not because
I want to prevent myself from shouting,
But because I might just,
I might just call out his name;
How did I allow them, all of them?
My eyes were open since the beginning,
My eyes are open even now.
You see the ‘promiscuous me’ now,
The ‘me’ I never imagined I could be,
But here I am, with a different man,
Each time, just hoping,
Hoping you’d stop me,
Hoping you’d come and get me,
Hoping you’d clean me;
So I keep my eyes open,
Because when I kept my eyes open,
I watched you, watching me, watching you.
