The Batteries Have Died
Darkness erupts from my soul and blackens the earth around me:
I am dead.
Sadness pours from my veins and floods the world:
I have died.
Anger shatters through my heart and cracks the pavement beneath my feet:
I won't come back.
Despair twists around me like vines and wrap around the unfortunate:
I say goodbye.
Love flickers in my eyes like a flashlight with nearly dead batteries: I am gone.
