when she was little
when she was little, she’d wish on stars
she had many dreams
huge colossal dreams
when she was little she always had a song
when she was little she viewed the world through a pair of rose colored glasses
when she was little everyone was equal in her eyes
when she was little her life was a safe haven
but worlds collide
that brilliant, peaceful little world around her, is now gone
she sees things in a different light
she doesn't wish on stars anymore
her neighborhood is too dangerous to be outside after dark
she looks at her dreams
they are now too ambitious and a waste of time
now those silly songs she used to sing
they are all unheard of now
and her rose colored glasses are shattered, hidden in a abandoned drawer
all she now sees is hatred and violence
now in her eyes everyone is still equal
but, hierarchy is prominent
now instead of a safe haven
she has a place where destruction runs true
everything tries to cave in, try to break her
when worlds collide
she dreams of when she was little
