Of Course
I told you all my secrets,
Granted you a piece of me
I told you all my secrets,
Thinking it would set me free-
I told you of my worries
I explained to you my fears,
At the beginning you were open,
You seemed to be all ears-
For a moment I was hopeful
My smile was almost bright,
I thought you truly cared then,
I thought I was nearing the light-
But then something settled,
You began to turn away,
When I came to you for help,
I couldn't find you that day-
You had suddenly retreated,
The way they always do,
They tell me they'll always be there,
But of course, it's never true.
