Alive
But in a decade
Or a century
A millennia even
They will go through our remains
And all that will remain
Of us
Are stuff
And things
Not memories
Or dreams
So it seems this life
Is truly one to live
For all that we give
Will be what it means to live
So paint the skies
With shades of blue
Or whatever hue
Is attractive to you
Sing the notes,
Both high and low
Go where no artist
Will ever go
Explore the world
Go farther than the eye can see
Dance amongst the stars
With glory and humanity
Because in a decade
Or a century
A millennia even
It would be a shame
If you were remembered
By the fifteen seconds of fame
You fought so hard to obtain
When really The time could've
Been spent
Doing something relevant
But instead
You spent those influential years
In your bed
Wishing to walk amongst the dead
But in a decade
Or a century
A millennia even
No one will grieve
For a life so lousy
It's owner wanted to leave
The earth we were graced with
But now are destroying
How annoying,
So Make something of your day
It may turn into your life
And maybe these future people
Won't look at us with strife,
'Oh that era, the 2010's'
We have seen that same mistake again and again,
Of the lonesome human
With no will or commitment
And we admit it
It's embarrassing to our people
To include this lousy era
In the history of our past
But we are aware
To learn from past mistakes
We must embrace the faults
Wake from our slumber
And continue to thrive
And test the limits
Of what it means to be alive
