Summer Ball
On a bright, summer day
Ball players come out like bees
and buzz about and play.
The sound of the rustling crowd
is a garden full of insects
Only when we get out,
we go back in the nest.
A monster swing
sends the ball like a jet
over the wall and
drops dead one hundred feet
past the field of dreams.
The crowd roars like lions.
Feasting with content
when the lights go out
we await the next meal
