My Mom's Hands
  Day in and day out
  Snipping strands of hair.
  Not always happy, but
A smile painted on her face
  Hands aged and rough
Like a favorite pair of tennis shoes.
  Fitting comfy and snug
  Never ready to throw out.
  When she feels like quitting
Her family makes it all worthwhile.
From the camping trips they take
To the card games at home.
  Her hands are dirty
  So mine can be clean.
