Clarity.
That word repeats in my head as I move forward in this gloomy weather.
My body’s wet from the tears held back from the years of neglect.
My lips numb from the chilling embrace.
My heart beats to the pitter-patter of the rain.
My shoes damp from the puddles I've attempted to save.
Cleansing.
That's the sign it brings.
Although gray is marked as depressing, it brightens my eyes, and clarifies the voice from within;
My body aches for warmth, but the chilling caress of the wind reminds me of what is ahead of me.
There’s more to life than me, and as I breathe in the rimy air, the drops crash down my being and cleanse me of all, leaving me blank as a fresh canvas.
Rain is my friend, and as she comforts me with her tears, the synonymous silence warms my heart with hope for Spring.
