Like you and me
Like the way the sun shined,
And the way the birds fly,
The smile she kept on her face,
Would always make me feel high.
Like the way the leaves fell,
And the way the wind blew,
As her arms wrapped around me,
Would always pull me through.
Like the way the girls laugh,
And the way the boys stare,
People would always judge,
And never leave us unaware.
Like the way the Earth spun around,
And the way it orbits the sun,
There shouldn’t be any bounds,
That could limit the fun.
Like the way the lightning struck,
And the way the rain poured down,
Her tears she shed every once in a while,
Made me turn my smile into a frown.
