The Last Goodbye

What is it like to say goodbye to someone you love?
When you’re counting down the months
The weeks
The days
The hours
The minutes
And finally the seconds
Until you know you have to leave
When you’re planning out that ‘goodbye’ forever
And then the day comes
And the moment comes
And you don’t know what to say
Rather, you can’t say what you want to
Because you can’t breathe
It feels like someone is strangling you
And you’re choking on every word you try to say
No one understands that feeling
