A Hopeless Act Five
Summers sweet bear the frozen weight
Of silent nights, holy sights, and joys to all the world but me.
Christmas chocolate is more bitter than sweet.
Warmth reminds me of the days past when oil
And water mixed into a beautiful mirror
And I watched from the balconies I stare in wonder
Insistent in suggesting that my life must be an act,
a plot driven to sorrow by selfish sorrows and the selfless hearts of those
who should stand away,
my living play unfolds.
An irreplicable dreamscape as vivid as a Monet,
Lifelike replicas of impossible things like you and I
Whirl together into an elegant dance,
Wrapping rhythm and rhyme in time
We dance until moonlight, pools of grey eyes swirl stormy seas into a whirlpool nightmare of love,
She writes without abandon her own story,
She sets
Subtle steps straight to the doors of my open soul
And strolls straight inside,
ignoring the shattered glass that once was my heart.
