I Remember
The day we met
That bone chilling December night
Crystalline flakes, falling
From the jet black sky.
I remember your smile
That ever so slight grin
Revealing that smile
That makes people
Fall in love at the sight.
I remember when you first met my parents
Joking with my father
Complementing my mother
Using every asset
That your father taught you.
I remember the way you looked at me
When I finally had the courage
To tell you,
To tell you,
To tell you that I loved you.
I remember that night
That everything turned to ebony
Your voice booming through the halls
The accusations
The slam of the door.
I remember the next morning
Getting out of bed
Eyes bloodshot
Looking for any sign of you in the darkness of moonlight
But there was nothing.
I remember those next few weeks
Endless, sleepless nights
Without a soul around
To keep me company
The "I can't do this anymore."
The day we met
That bone chilling
December night
Crystalline flakes, falling
From the jet black sky.
I remember forgiving you
But I would never forget you
When you forget about someone
The forgiveness does not mean anything
I could never forget you.
