The Woodpecker
Walking through the forest, a loud, persistent noise occurs.
The sound is coming from a nearby tree.
He doesn’t notice us, and continues to build a home.
He continues to saw through the solid wood.
His tools, sharp as a knife,
as he continues to drill at the tree.
The home begins to look more and more complete
as the hard work persists.
The work is almost finished,
the home is almost fit for a family.
As the finishing touches are done, the family settles in.
A hard day’s work; a finished home.
