As her arms glide so swiftly with calm
the fate of this creature is known,
yet all frightening thoughts are in oblivion
her radiant movement triumphs all

The glistening presence, her captivating peace
the trembling wings begin to move in distress,
the fluidity still apparent with finesse
fulfilled by the most utter fright of life.

Covered in the whisps of fragile entity
they slowly trail from the uncovered body.
As her delicate world unwinds,
the moving beauty in her wings stop time.

Avoiding the bursting fear, the surges of pain
as her eyes, sorrowful tears clutter them
never to glance upon the world again,
what a soulful creature, once so alive and bright.

Where rays of vivacity engulfed, such a sight,
yet love ruined her tranquil state, and her light.
Crippled from the loss, the agony
but nothing is left of her, darkness’s satisfying discovery.

And with everlasting elements of grace
as the harp emits a melancholy tune
lies a swan unraveling like silky lace,
she finally wanes like the night’s disappearing moon.

From the ballet Swan Lake, this piece ackowledges the last moments this swan will face in her life. The last flutter of her wings, her trembling, sorrowful body. Yet she asks as if everything is fine, as if there is no end, not even the slightest recognition of her dying ways.
