The moons comes out
In the east
Where the earth
Meets the sky
Fear the demon with
Only one eye
                        STOMP      STOMP
Each footstep
Is a lightning strike

As it marches
Across the land
Billions of
                 Innocent
                                 Dreams
                                                 Fall
                                                             Like
                                                                       Rain
The beast stole my lifeless body
It threw shade on me
Darkness
                 Is
                         So
                                  Inviting
With doors opened  w    i    d    e
Like making decisions
One minute you are
In the spotlight
The next you are
                            Down
                                        A
                                               Black hole.
Dreams are like flaming fires
Untouchable yet
Delicate
               And
                        Put
                                Out
                                          By
                                                  Time
Nightmares
Never come alone
They always visit
With a package of
F      e       a       r
Behind their ear
Touching my chest
With their sharpened claws

Nightmares
Don’t ever make a sound
They haunch on the window
With their soft paws
And sleek white whiskers
Waiting for the right moment
                                               To  S T R I K E

My unconscious body
Feels awake
As if it was

S
I
N
K
I
N
G

Into my bedroom mattress

Nightmares
Reach into my soul
With its piercing LIME GREEN EYES
And hold my sweet yet fragile dreams
As a toy to
Momentarily
Keep itself
Satisfied.

But as the warmth of the first
Sun rays pierce through
My bedroom window
The beast is
                    L      o     n       g
                                                Gone
All is fine
Until
The moon comes
Out to play
Once again.
