Evolution of Survival
  We consider ourselves
  Evolved
Because we come up with theories like
  Evolution.
We accept our ability to perform
  Basic tasks,
  Without understanding
  How we got that ability,
  That knowledge,
  Necessary for the task
  Irrelevant for the goal.
  What is the goal?
  Nature tells us:
  "Survive."
  We obey.
  We live on.
  Until we don't.
  And what happens
  Once we don't?
  Once we're gone?
  Termination of people and
  Termination of destruction:
  A mutually dependent relationship.
  The promise of more,
  Of change,
  Of making an impact,
  Impacts us.
  But not enough
  To cause
  A tremor.
  Stuck in a vacuum
  Of aimless time and
  Aimless energy
  Limitless potential
  Wasted on surviving.
