What If?
If the sun were to explode,
as a star normally does over time,
would we fell its rays engulf our earth?
If the ground were to open up,
say in an earthquake,
would we feel ourselves fall through the crevice,
only to disappear into the molten core?
If the oceans were to raise to heights unimaginable,
would our cities and our ports disappear into mystery,
just as Atlantis did thousands of years before?
If we as a species stay on the same path we are going,
how long will it be before mankind ceases to exist altogether?
