Ice Winters
The deepest chill of the winter
Is forced between the threads of my coat.
I can’t imagine the snow in Montana.
My fingers and face go numb and stiff
Despite the gloves I sport.
I can’t imagine the cold in Alaska.
I’m just glad that in Florida,
We still have warm pools,
We still have puddles,
We still have lakes,
Instead shaved ice scattered about.
