Open Wide
  Smiling, he is.
  I’d expect as much
  From such an unruly specimen.
His devilish grin seeps into my very soul.
  I fight his words.
He can’t make me do his bidding.
  I retreat to the room
Where they all will go soon
And I sit in the awful chair.
  The chair lined with instruments
  Obviously for his use
  On me.
  I squirm inside.
  Why now?
Who will blame me for walking out of here?
  I can’t handle it.
  I sit up.
  I bolt.
  “Carly, come here.
  “Now.”
  He calls to me.
“We don’t want you running away, do we?”
  I feel his gaze
  Burning into my back.
  I choose my words carefully.
  “No. We don’t.”
  I hate this man.
  All I have to do
  For him
  Is open wide.
