“Libraries were full of ideas–perhaps the most dangerous and powerful of all weapons.”

“No. I can survive well enough on my own— if given the proper reading material.”
― Sarah J. Maas, Throne of Glass

I have secrets, I have truths, I hold treasures
Beneath the surface of my cardboard
Held together by duct tape and glue
Gaze at my ink stained pages
And my secrets will reveal themselves to you

I’ve seen her darkness and heartbreak
I’ve watched her age and mature
Felt her anger, my parchment absorbed her tears
In each one of these ink stained pages
Lies so much more than just her fears

Notice the ripped edges, the change in handwriting
Her happiest moments live here as well
I’ve slept on her pillow and watched her dream
So gently please open up my ink stained pages
If you’re curious to see if she’s more than she seems

Don’t be frightened, I’ll help you understand
Pay attention please, start at the beginning
If you ever want to know her in the truest way
You have to know I’m not just ink stained pages
Read me, love me, cherish us both if you want to stay

Truth has many shades. It's not a matter of black and white, but many grays.

this is amazing! Holy cow! :D You worded that with so much sophistication but it was so subtly elegant
