I’m sweating,
And out of breath,
It’s worst than hot coals in my shoes.
I try to finish a mile so I
Race around the track
I want to finish fast
I want to show the coach I am worth her time and effort
As people pass me,
I speed up and pass them.
Music pounds through my ears
While I am trying to finish strong.
I finally finished the mile
I dart over to my water bottle
