Empty Compliments
A sidewalks history set aside.
Being allocated to a memory,
Of the one who called-
Clinging on in writhing desperation;
To the moments,
Of a living man's pride.
Shifting hues and tempo,
Letting go of the water.
Lifting, evaporating to the sun.
By its nature birthed as weeds;
Parting uniformly moreover,
In towering undesirable numbers.
Jabbing and denying comfort-
Of the one whose home they suffocate.
Only to be plucked to wither and lay-
In the rubble;
With all of those who-
Had made that same mistake.
